The village of Sainte-Sabine is on the limit of the Auxois plain and overlooked by Châteauneuf-en-Auxois, a few miles away.

The village is on the road from Pouilly-en-Auxois to Bligny-sur-Ouche. Although the buildings are not next to the canal, some common land does border it at lock 13 Saone.
